Choosing a clear photo for your character

A reference photo is the model’s main evidence of your intended character. Prefer an image where the eyes, mouth and outline are visible at ordinary viewing size. Enlarging a very small screenshot does not restore missing detail. A simple crop can remove unrelated people, but avoid cutting away the head or distinctive features. Use a photo you are allowed to upload.

Keep one subject per upload

Upload one clear photo containing one subject. JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB. Keep the face visible, with even lighting and no heavy filters. Avoid group photos, tiny faces and objects covering the eyes or mouth. Click the upload card or drag the image onto it.

Check obstructions and file type

Sunglasses, masks, hands and hair across the face reduce the available reference information. Prefer an unobstructed original over a repeatedly compressed screenshot. Supported files are JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 10 MB each. Export an actual conversion for formats such as HEIC; renaming the extension does not convert the image.

Compare before submitting

Confirm that each image shows the intended subject, contains no unintended private information and is authorized for use. To improve an unsatisfactory attempt, change the more problematic photo while keeping the other as a comparison. Clear inputs give the process better information, but do not guarantee identical faces or movement.

Photos and privacy
